Beautiful New Years Eve Wedding – At the Adelphia House

Hi Friends!

Back on the blog to share my most recent wedding I photographed and it just happens to be my second ever wedding I did!

Marvin, the groom, sought me out on Wedding Wire. He asked if he and Michelle could meet with me about me potentially photographing their wedding. When I met Michelle and Marvin they were some of the nicest, most fun people I have ever met! I felt it was so easy to talk and connect with them and it felt as if we had been friends for years. They actually had met each other working for the same post office that they had both worked at for 25 years! The best part is their relationship didn’t start out as a romantic one but it started out as a friendship and over the years it blossomed into something more. I personally loved this love story and really connected with it because I personally believe what makes a great marriage is the foundation of a strong friendship, or as I call it best friends.

I have seriously gotten so lucky with some amazing and such perfect for each other couples that I have gotten to photograph and these two were no exception. They were absolutely wonderful to work with and their wedding was a dream. It was probably the MOST fun wedding I have ever been too hands down. From all the super fun and nice guests to the special moments when Marvin’s Mom sang, and his Step-Dad who prayed before dinner, and the super emotional best man and maid of honor speeches (seriously Marvin’s son, Marvin Jr., made his Dad tear up… and I’m not going to lie me too lol) to Michelle dancing with her sons and Marvin Dancing with his Daughter. It was a family affair that was just bursting with all the love that was in the room that surrounded them. Michelle’s cousin got engaged that night at their wedding. It was a huge surprise and I know Marvin & Michelle were SO thrilled to have them share their special day with them. It just shows you how loving these two are. It was such a special night that not only I, but everyone there will remember for years to come.

Favorite moment:

For this wedding my favorite moment was DJ who was so interactive and had all the guests out on the dance floor having a blast with Marvin and Michelle. It was seriously so magical to see everyone coming together having a great time celebrating the happy couple. Another fun moment of mine was when Michelle, the bride, was doing her bouquet toss and tricked them all out the first time around. I was able to capture that moment and when I was going through to edit it made me smile so big and giggle at the same time. She had so much fun doing that! It was so fun and tricky!

To Michelle & Marvin:

Thank you so much for trusting me with your big day, you will never know how much this meant to me. I will never forget the first time I met you guys and you said you were looking for someone who was passionate about photographing your wedding and how you thought I was that gal. That made me so incredibly happy and I was so honored you chose me to be part of your special day! Thank you so much guys and I hope you enjoy this blog of all your beautiful photos!

Intimate Backyard Wedding on a beautiful August Summer day

Hi Friends!

So excited to be sharing my very first blog with you! I thought it was only fitting to share with you the very FIRST wedding I ever did.

I met Sandy at my full time job where we worked together in flooring customer service. Sandy is such a wonderful soul, she is so sweet and passionate about not only living a healthy fit lifestyle but teaching others how to also, after all she is going to school to be a nutritionist. She also has a 7 year old Daughter, Quinn, who is just this super cool, smart kid with this BEAUTIFUL long red hair. Talk about hair envy (not joking) haha.

Anyways when she got engaged to her long time boyfriend Randy (who btw is also super sweet and kind), she asked me if I would be willing to photograph her wedding. Me just getting into photography less than a year ago nervously (but also excitedly) agreed. After all this was a HUGE opportunity to me to get into wedding photography which is something I had always dreamed of doing. All I could think was they picked me?? I was so excited!! So when August 21, 2017 A.K.A  the BIG day, you can only imagine how I was feeling…best way to describe it is big ball of nervousness and pure excitement all rolled into one! What started out as a nervous day for me turned out to be one of the most incredible experiences I had ever had…

I am so lucky I ended up photographing two people who are just so in love and just perfect for each other. I don’t know what it was about this wedding but there was just something so whimsical about it… Maybe it was the moment when Randy saw Sandy walking down the aisle for the first time and tears welled up in his eyes or all the kisses and hugs they kept stealing from each other during the portrait session or the moment where Randy came up behind Sandy and swooped her up (literally) just so he could dance with his new bride on the dance floor. Just everything about it was just so magical. I couldn’t stop swooning over every photo when I was editing too. Every photo made me so happy and it was because I knew these 2 people were just meant to be. What stuck out most about this wedding, to me anyways, was the incredible love, warmth, sincerity, and generosity of Sandy, Randy and everyone who surrounded them on that day. So many wonderful people came together on their big day to help chip in to make it wonderful. Randy’s mom-Karen- who did Sandy & Quinn’s hair, Sandy’s parents- Teresa & Bruce who proved Sandy with a place to get ready, Sandy’s Aunt Carol who made their beautiful floral bouquets, Robyn & Bryan- Sandy’s sister and brother in law who opened up their beautiful home to have Sandy & Randy’s reception in their backyard, to the wonderful family and friends who all showed up to show their support and celebrate. Every single person there made that wedding special in its own way and it filled my heart up with so much joy to see everyone come together to help celebrate this wonderful couple.

Favorite moment:

The pictures on the carousel turned out to be my absolute favorite. The people who run the casrosel took the bride and groom and all their families and friends for a ride around a few times while they played wedding carousel music! It was so much fun and we got some of the most iconic wedding photos from their wedding on that very carousel. So hands down that was my favorite moment of the wedding!

To Sandy & Randy:

Thank  you so much for trusting me with your big day, you will never know how much this meant to me since it was my very first wedding and you put your faith in me to deliver beautiful memories for you both of your big day. I will be forever grateful!
